Behavior Therapy

Many children who are on the autism spectrum or experience learning difficulties will exhibit some type of challenging behavior. This can range from mild disobedience to self-injurious or aggressive behavior. This behavior pattern can intensify without intervention. Unlike normally developing children who may intentionally act up to test limits or seek attention, children on the autism spectrum do not misbehave intentionally which for parents can be particularly challenging to understand and manage.

Behavior Therapy offers a clinic-based program beginning with a complete Functional Behavior Analysis to identify problem areas and specific challenges facing the child. We then design an individualized behavior program based on the use of positive behavior programming to manage behavior, change situations and improve the outcome for everyone involved. Having a plan of action eases the stress of the situation and can vastly improve the lives of families with children on the autism spectrum.
